I Can Live With That

Enjoy the Little ThingsI hope everyone had a nice Memorial Day and a good, short week.  Time flies.  I enjoyed my week although it was very busy.  I have completed my prep class for my Personal Trainer certification and now I am doing some final studying before I take the national certification exam.  I am also completing my Health Coach studies and preparing for that national exam as well.  Those studies are what keep me from posting every day, but I can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel and I am looking forward to getting back on track.

I had a very nice holiday (within reason) and I felt good about the choices I made.  Michael and I enjoyed a Braves game on Monday and of course, that meant a trip to the world-famous Varsity on the way to the game for lunch.  They are known for their chili dogs, fries, and onion rings, but I have discovered since I started my weight loss journey that they also have a delicious Grilled Chicken Salad.  Who knew that the Varsity had salad, much less a delicious one?  I can have the salad with their Light Italian Dressing for a total for 5 Points Plus®!  That’s a bargain!  We don’t indulge in any treats at the ballpark because quite frankly, they are too outrageously expensive.  That’s ok though because it keeps me from being tempted by things that I know I shouldn’t be eating (or drinking).  That evening we drove down south of Atlanta and spent the night at a cottage Michael’s Mom has.  It was a wonderful evening and we ate at a barbeque restaurant called Fresh Air Barbeque that has been there since 1929.  It was a very neat experience and I felt like I was able to eat within reason as they only offer 3 choices on the menu.  I had barbeque pork and less than a ¼ cup of Brunswick stew with 4 Saltine crackers.  It was a great day and all of my food was on plan and within reason.

The only thing that felt a little bit “off” about my week was my workout schedule.  I did an outdoor workout on Monday (which is different for me) and I had some knee pain and bunion pain after that which kept me from working out on Wednesday.  I did feel much better after taking a day off and resumed my regular routine yesterday.

So at the end of a holiday week I was up .4 (point 4) lbs. and I felt like that was pretty good.  I can live with that.  Although I never like to be up, I don’t feel bad about it.  I feel like this was a negligible amount and a full week back on my “normal” routine should have me moving in the right direction again.

My Weight Watchers meeting was great today and there were so many wonderful inspirational losses.  I am always so glad I went as it serves as a weekly renewal of my motivation and you can’t put a price on that!

I am looking forward to a fun weekend as we celebrate my Dad’s birthday and I’m looking forward to a successful weigh-in next Friday!  I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!
