So Close I Can Taste It

Write Your GoalsI feel like this week I have really experienced the power of writing my goals down.  It’s one thing to say you want to accomplish something, but it seems to take on a whole new meaning and direction once you put it into writing.  There is something about putting the ink to the paper that seems to really help you commit.

Earlier this week I talked to you about setting SMART goals for yourself and the steps involved in doing that.  I feel like my weigh-in today proved the effectiveness of the SMART goal method when you combine it with hard work and diligent effort.

After being up slightly last week, I committed to putting my best effort forward this week as I am absolutely determined to get over the hump, if it’s the very last thing I ever do!  Earlier this year I had shared with all of you that I really wanted to be at my goal weight by my three-year anniversary with Weight Watchers which is coming up on September 23, 2014.  That gives me 16 weeks to lose 57 lbs. (as of LAST Friday).  With all of that in mind, I vowed to be successful this week.

My commitment and determination paid off!  I am extremely happy to report that I was down 5.6 lbs. this week!!!  Of course I understand that this is not a typical loss and I also know that it is not realistic to expect to have a loss this large every week, but I definitely feel like it gave me a jump-start as I am now just 1.6 lbs. over 200 and as I told Michael tonight, I am so close to the “victory” of getting under the 200 lb. mark that I can taste it.  I am declaring that next week WILL be my week!  I will get below 200 lbs. for the first time in more years than I can remember.  And this means that I now have 51 lbs. to lose and 15 weeks in which to do it.  Michael joked this morning that I am catching up with him.  He knows how very happy I will be when I finally weigh less than him and he’s right, I’m very close.

Weight 6.6.14

My Weight Watchers meeting was GREAT today!  There were so many wonderful stories and inspirational ideas and I left feeling very energized and ready to embark on another successful week.  I know that I have many readers from that meaning and I want to say “thank you” to each and every one of you.

So, how are you planning to be successful this week?  Have you put your plans and goals in writing?  If you need tips on setting SMART goals for yourself, please refer to my article from earlier this week.  Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!!!

Good for you, Kassie!!!! I can share in your excitement about crossing that 200 line. I accomplished that last week and it feels so great to be at my lowest weight in probably 25 years or so! Now I have to stay diligently on track as I will not go over 200 again. So happy to see 199 on the scale!! I know you can get there, Kassie! You’ve already accomplished so much! Love you!
