Celebration Inspiration

Inspiration from OthersLike most of you, I am always looking for inspiration to keep me focused on my weight loss goal.  Some days, that motivation comes very easily, and other times you have to look really hard for it.  I find that my motivation comes in all forms.  It can be a quote, a Bible verse, a kind word, something I see on TV. a book I read, a conversation I have, etc.  A lot of times, for me personally, inspiration comes from seeing others achieve success with their weight loss.

For me, receiving inspiration from others is one of the best things about attending my Weight Watchers meetings.  I love being surrounded by other people who are on the same journey I am on and who can really understand the road I am traveling.  Because I attend my weekly meeting without fail, I am able to meet a variety of people and hear all sorts of inspirational stories.

Last October I had the pleasure of meeting a sweet lady named Tracey who, like many of us, had joined Weight Watchers more than once.  I loved her attitude though and she seemed so determined that I really felt confident that this time would be HER TIME!  I am pleased to report that I had the pleasure of seeing her receive her lifetime award today!  In addition to being so very proud of her and so happy for her, I found myself feeling so inspired about my own journey.  For some reason, sitting right there as someone received the award that I feel like has been alluding me for a while now, helped me feel more driven than ever to reach my goal.  It’s interesting to see all the different forms inspiration takes and amazing how being so happy for someone can make you want to push yourself to succeed.  Congratulations Tracey!

I am very happy to report that I celebrated a success of my own today as I was down .4 lbs.  This makes four weeks in a row that I have been down and I feel like I am really on a roll!  I know it’s less than a pound but you know what I say, “Down is down!”  Every little bit is going to add up to that one great big total loss that I am going to achieve!

I encourage all of you to look to people around you for encouragement.  Seeing others succeed is a great source of motivation.  Those around us have so much to offer if we will just pay attention.  Have a great weekend!

  1. Way to go Tracey! I do hope you have told her about all of us here in the blog world, Kassie. If not, please pass along, what I am sure will be a mountain of congratulations from us all.

And, congratulations Kassie. Down is down for sure, and you are definitely riding a 4 week wave. I know that it is because you have rededicated yourself to following the plan, without personal modifications. You should be very justifiably proud.

And, look at those two skinny women. If not for the WW poster, I would swear that was some glamorous red carpet affair.

    • Thanks Bobby! I sent Tracey a link to the post so she will be able to see the comments. I am proud of myself for getting back on track and following the plan. As always, I appreciate all of the encouragement and support.

  2. Congratulations Tracey! Beating morbid obesity is an incredibly difficult and challenging road to walk. I’m brand new to your blog but you and I both peaked near 400 lbs. and this weigh in is IMPRESSIVE. Your everyday choices are making an epic impact and I am certain you will hit your goal. You can do this and I’m excited to see you finish. Keep up the great work.

    • Dave,
Thanks for following the blog! As I always say, “I didn’t gain the weight overnight and it’s not going away overnight,” but I will continue this journey until I have reached my goal. My health and future mean enough to me to keep going, no matter what!

I love the quote you opened this post with. I find sometimes comparing our journeys to another persons’ can demotivate one. I have an amazing friend…we weighed the same at one stage and now she weighs like 12kgs less than me! But I have to take responsibility for not doing what she obviously was able to do and our bodies are different, she is younger, has no kids, etc, etc…so we cannot even compare no matter what our similarities!Nice to be reminded not to compare.

.4 is down…as Bobby says, DOwn is Down! Own it! Well done:)

    • Thank you! I truly believe it’s important to remember that we are all unique and each of us have our own individual journey, and that’s actually a good thing. 🙂

  4. Hi Kassie, thank you so much !! One of the things that stuck with me when I started Weight Watchers for the umpteenth time was when you said you have never missed a meeting. That was my “aha” moment. So thank you for being an inspiration to me!!
