Honesty IS the Best Policy

HonestyI know I preached about being honest with yourself in my last post but I wanted to let you know that I am living my own advice and it really is working.  I cannot say for sure what the scale will say tomorrow but regardless of the number, I will be able to look at it and know that I gave it a true effort this week.  No BLT’s here and there that I have cleverly left off of my tracker so that they wouldn’t count, no crazy eating plans, and no deviating from the Weight Watchers plan that worked so well for me as I lost the first 165 lbs.

The best part of being honest with myself is how good I feel.  There is something about giving your best effort that makes you feel like a winner no matter what.  I feel like I have had a “winning” week and as I always remind everyone, this journey is one week at a time; one day at a time; and sometimes even one hour at a time.

I have cheated today and gotten on my home scale to take a peak.  From the looks of it, there is a good chance I will be up tomorrow.  If I am, I know I will still be paying the price for trying to eat no carbs last week.  It will not be because of sneaking a bite or two here and there of things that I haven’t tracked.  Have I been tempted?  Of course I have.  I have had to talk myself off the ledge (literally) more than once this week and I am SO glad I did!

A fellow blogger of mine named Bobby has issued an Affirmation Challenge to all of his readers for the month of September.  This involves writing down a positive affirmation about yourself each day of the month.  I encourage you all to head over to his blog and accept the challenge.  As I wrap up my week, my affirmation for today is, “I may not always be perfect, but I made good choices for myself this week!”

Be Good to Yourself

  1. Kassie,

I always admire your honesty on your blog, and as I said the other day, I also admire that you are being more honest with yourself as well. Today’s tale of the scale won’t tell the whole story for you. It won’t tell about your fearless honesty, or your successful resistance to temptation. But, your heart and soul will tell YOU the tale of those successes, and isn’t that really what matters?

For those looking for a direct link to the explanation of the Affirmation Challenge it can be found here:

Thank you, Kassie, for mentioning it. And, thank you for participating.
