Playing Catch Up

Schedule Your PrioritiesI cannot believe I have allowed so much time to go by without doing a post.  If I have any readers left out there, I apologize.  Everything is going well and I am enjoying my new job very much but I am still working on my time management as far as fitting in the job, my workouts, personal time, and the blog.  Obviously, I the order I wrote them in is the order in which things are being prioritized.  In light of a conversation I had with my leader last Friday, it occurred to me today that fitting the blog in has got to move up higher on the priority list.

My leader and I were discussing the benefits of journaling and while I do a journal with pen and paper from time to time the blog is very much a journal and if I make the time to blog, I am also making the time to journal.  I have said it before, my readers are accountability partners for me and you guys cannot help hold me accountable if I am not checking in.  I also discussed with my leader starting a journal where I write to my Mom who passed away 3 ½ years ago.  It bothers me that so many things are happening in my life and I don’t get to tell my Mom about them as she and I talked ALL the time when she was alive and not being able to do that has left a void in my life.  I started that journal this week and so far, so good.  It turns out I have a lot to tell my Mom.

Since I didn’t check-in with you last week, I will start by telling you about weigh-in on Friday 10/31.  I was up 1.2 lbs. and since that was my third week in a row of “creeping” up, I decided to go back to counting points and to be as diligent as possible.  My persistence paid off as I was down on 11/7 by 3.4 lbs.!  That loss put me at exactly 201 lbs. and I am now just a little over a pound from being under 200.  I am doing everything I can to make sure this is my week to FINALLY drop under 200.  I promise to report in with you ON FRIDAY and let you know how it goes.

As we are discussing in our Weight Watchers meetings, I want to remind you that as we head into the holiday season, it is more important than ever to recommit to your weight loss efforts to ensure you don’t allow family gatherings, office parties, etc. disrupt your plans.

In the coming days, I want to share with you some strategies I have used through the holidays over the last three years to maintain my success and I would love to hear your suggestions as well.

  1. Hello Kassie! It’s good to see you posting. Congratulations on being so close to 200 pounds. That has to feel very good. Soon you will be even more ONEdurful as that scale gets rid of the nasty 2 at the beginning.

    I don’t write in my health blog daily, but I do write daily. I agree that there is a benefit to me by doing it, and some have told me it helps them as well. When I finish the 365 project I am on in my thoughts blog, I may shift to doing more writing in my health blog.

    Anyway, again it’s good to see you. The blog worlds is a better place when you are contributing. 🙂
